Privacy Policy

This policy covers this website. Deptly is reachable at three addresses — trydeptly.com, deptlyhq.com, and getdeptly.com — and the last two permanently redirect to the first. They are one website, served by one deployment, and this policy applies to all of them.

If you become a Deptly client, how we handle your business’s operational data — your customer records, your inbox, your calendar — is governed by the written agreement we sign with you, not by this page. Where the two ever differ for client data, that agreement controls.

There are three places on this site where you can hand us information, and we only get what you type.

• The contact form. Name and email are required. Phone number, business name, industry, team size, and a free-text description of your biggest challenge are optional. We also record which page you submitted the form from.
• Emailed assessment results. If you ask us to send your plan by email after finishing an assessment, we collect your email address, which assessment you took, the page you took it on, and a summary of your result.
• Booking a call.The scheduler on the contact page is Calendly. What you enter there goes to Calendly first, under Calendly’s privacy policy, and reaches us as a booking with your name, email, and any answers you gave their form.

Please do not put sensitive information into the free-text box — government ID numbers, health details, financial account numbers, or anything about your customers that you would not want sitting in a spreadsheet. We do not need it to have a useful first conversation.

The assessments on this site say no email or phone number is needed. That is literally true, and it is worth explaining how.

When you finish an assessment, we record the result with nothing that identifies you: which assessment it was, the page it lives on, the answers you chose, the scored result, and the recommendation you were shown. No name, no email, no IP address, no account, no identifier that could be tied back to you later.

If you separately ask for the plan by email, that email address is recorded in a different place, and we do not join it back to the anonymous result row.

• Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-W43T5Q5P22). It sets cookies and records which pages you view, how you arrived, the approximate region the visit came from (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, and interactions such as which buttons and links get clicked. We read it in aggregate — as counts and trends, not as a file on you.
• Server and CDN logs. This site is hosted on Vercel, which logs standard request data: IP address, user agent, the URL requested, and a timestamp. Every website on the internet keeps some version of this. It is used for security and troubleshooting.
• The Calendly scheduler. The booking window embedded on the contact page is loaded from Calendly and may set its own cookies when it appears.

• There are no user accounts and no passwords. There is nothing to log into.
• No payments are collected here. We never ask for card or bank details on this website.
• There are no advertising or retargeting pixels on this site. Nothing here follows you to other websites to show you ads.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

• To reply to you, prepare for a call, and follow up about working together.
• To understand which pages and assessments are actually useful, so we can improve the ones that are not.
• To keep the site working, fast, and secure.
• To meet legal obligations if we are ever required to.

If you contact us and it is clearly not a fit, we say so and stop. You are not enrolled in anything by filling in a form.

Deptly is a small operation running on ordinary business tools. Four companies touch information from this site, each under its own privacy policy:

• Google (Analytics). Website usage measurement, as described above.
• Google (Forms and Sheets). Form submissions and assessment results are written into Google Forms, which feed a spreadsheet owned by Deptly. This is where contact details and assessment rows live.
• Calendly. Scheduling, for anyone who books a call.
• Vercel. Hosting and content delivery, which means server logs.

Beyond those, we share personal information only when you ask us to, or if we are legally required to — for example, in response to a valid legal request.

The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, which measures usage, and — on the contact page only — the embedded Calendly scheduler. None of them are advertising cookies.

You have a few ways to opt out:

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works fine without them.
• Install Google’s official opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which turns Google Analytics off across every site you visit.
• Use your browser’s private or tracking-protection mode, which most browsers now ship with.

Being straight with you: this site does not currently detect or respond automatically to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, and it does not show a cookie consent banner. If you want your information out of our records, the deletion request described below is handled by a person and it works.

Honestly: contact details and form submissions are retained until they are deleted on request. There is no automatic expiry today. They sit in our spreadsheet so that if you come back to us in six months, we remember the conversation.

Anonymous assessment rows are kept indefinitely, because there is nothing in them to identify or delete.

Analytics and server-log data are held by Google and Vercel under their own retention settings and policies, which we do not control beyond the options those products give us.

Every page on this site is served over HTTPS. The information you submit is stored inside Google and Vercel accounts protected by their security programs, and access is limited to the people at Deptly who need it to reply to you.

No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. We do not claim ours is.

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete it.
• Stop contacting you.

Send the request through the contact form and write “privacy request” in the message, including the email address you originally used so we can find the right record. We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before acting on a request about someone else’s data.

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights over your personal information — for example under California’s privacy laws or the GDPR in the EU and UK. We do not make you prove which law applies to you. If you ask, we do it.

Deptly sells to business owners. This website is not directed at children under 13, we do not knowingly collect information from them, and if we learn we have, we delete it. If you believe a child has submitted information here, tell us through the contact form and we will remove it.

Our guides and comparison pages link to sources, tools, and other companies. Once you follow a link off this site, you are on someone else’s property under their privacy policy. We are not responsible for what they collect.

When our practices change, this page changes with them — a new tool, a new form, a different analytics setup. The effective date at the top tells you when it was last revised. We update this page because something actually changed, not to refresh a date. If a change materially affects how we handle information you already gave us, we will say so here.

Every privacy question and request goes through the same place: the contact form. A person reads it and replies, usually within one business day.
