Deptly

Terms

Terms of Use

Effective

The short version

  • These terms cover using this website. Paid work with Deptly is governed by the agreement we sign with each client.
  • The assessments and calculators are informational. They produce illustrations, not guarantees or professional advice.
  • Read the content, link to it, quote it with attribution. Do not republish it wholesale or misuse the site.
  • Using this site does not make you a client and does not create any obligation on either side.

Agreeing to these terms

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. That is the whole mechanism — there is no box to tick and no account to create.

These terms apply to trydeptly.com, deptlyhq.com, and getdeptly.com. The last two permanently redirect to the first; they are one website.

What these terms cover — and what they do not

These terms govern your use of this website: reading the pages, taking the assessments, and sending us a message.

They do not govern the Deptly managed service itself. Every paid engagement is set up under an individual written agreement between Deptly and that client, covering scope, pricing, data handling, approval rules, confidentiality, and termination. Where anything on this website differs from a signed client agreement, the signed agreement controls for that client.

Nothing on this website is an offer, a contract, or a promise of service. Reading a page, finishing an assessment, or submitting the contact form does not create a client relationship. That starts when we both sign something.

What Deptly is

Deptly is a managed service for service businesses. We take routine follow-up, first replies, scheduling coordination, customer updates, document chasing, and invoice follow-through off an owner’s plate — inside the tools the business already uses, within rules the owner approves, with anything judgment-shaped escalated to a person.

It is described in more detail on How Deptly Works and What Deptly Handles. Those pages describe the service as it is generally delivered. What any specific engagement includes is defined in that client’s agreement.

Assessments, calculators, and estimates are informational

This site offers free assessments, quizzes, and calculators. They are educational tools. Read them as a structured way to think about your business, not as a prediction.

  • Results are generated from the answers you give, using general assumptions about how service businesses operate. They are not an audit of your business and not a diagnosis of it.
  • Any figure produced by a calculator — hours, revenue, recovered work, return on investment — is an illustration based on your inputs. It is not a projection, a quote, or a guarantee of any result.
  • Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice. Where a page touches a regulated field, treat it as background reading and consult someone qualified in your jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrations and sample reports on Proof & Examples are labeled for what they are — illustrations of how workflows behave, not customer case studies.

Decisions you make about your business remain yours. We are glad the tools help; they are not a substitute for your judgment.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for anything unlawful, or to violate anyone else’s rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its hosting, or any connected system, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission.
  • Interfere with the site’s operation — overloading it, disrupting it, or introducing malicious code.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest content at a volume or rate that burdens the site, or bypass any technical restriction on it.
  • Submit false information through our forms, submit someone else’s personal information without their permission, or use the forms to send unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Copy substantial portions of the site to republish as your own, or frame the site in a way that misrepresents who published it.

We may restrict or block access if the site is being misused. We would rather not, and rarely have to.

Intellectual property

The content on this site — the writing, guides, assessments, page designs, graphics, logos, and the Deptly name and brand — belongs to Deptly or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You are welcome to read it, share links to it, and quote reasonable excerpts with attribution and a link back. You may not republish it wholesale, sell it, or present it as your own work.

Third-party names, marks, and products mentioned on this site — software, platforms, and companies we compare against or integrate with — belong to their respective owners and are referred to for identification only. Mentioning them does not imply any partnership or endorsement in either direction.

What you send us

When you submit information through a form on this site, you confirm that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to send it.

Please do not send confidential or sensitive material through these forms — customer records, health information, financial account details, or anything covered by a confidentiality obligation. A website contact form is not a secure channel, and nothing you send before we sign an agreement is treated as confidential.

We use what you send to respond to you and to prepare for a conversation. How it is stored, who processes it, and how to have it deleted is set out in our Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback or a suggestion about the site or the service, we may act on it without owing you anything for it.

Third-party services and links

This site links out to sources, tools, and other companies, and embeds a third-party scheduling tool on the contact page. We do not control those services, we are not responsible for their content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

When you use an embedded or linked third-party service, that company’s own terms and privacy policy apply to what you do there.

Availability and changes to the site

We may change, suspend, or remove any part of this site at any time — pages, assessments, or the whole thing — without notice. We do not promise the site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we do not promise that content is complete or current at any given moment. Pricing, capabilities, and service descriptions here can change as the business does.

No warranty

This website and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deptly disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be accurate, reliable, secure, or uninterrupted. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deptly and anyone working with it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this website or your reliance on anything published here — including lost profits, lost business, lost data, or business interruption — even if we were told such damages were possible.

This section is about the website. Liability under a signed client agreement is governed by that agreement, not by this page.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States state in which Deptly is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and by applicable United States federal law. Deptly serves clients in the United States, and this site is directed at a United States audience. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with your local laws.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site and the business change. The effective date at the top tells you when they were last revised, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. If a change is significant, we will make that clear here rather than quietly swapping the text.

The usual closing clauses

  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • If we do not enforce a provision right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
  • These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Deptly regarding this website.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.

Questions

Questions about these terms go through the contact form, same as everything else. A person reads it and replies.
